daytrotter

This is finally the blog you've all been waiting for. When we were in Austin Texas for SXSW we went down to the daytrotter studios to record some stuff live for their website. We thought it'd be really fun to ONLY do new songs for it. Something to listen back to I guess. And now they've posted all five on their website:

http://www.daytrotter.com/article/876/simon-dawes-conservation-of-blood-and-guts-with-a-bow-on-top

If you read that page, close to the top you'll see the little button that'll take you to the songs page. I hope you like it all.

And also, that is the first time I've ever seen a painting of myself, so you can imagine how exciting this is for me.

OTHER NEWS:
- TOMORROW'S THE WEDDING
- THE DAY AFTER IS THE FIRST INCUBUS SHOW IN ARIZONA
- TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY ARE THE LA INCUBUS DATES
- THURSDAY WE LEAVE TO SEE THE REST OF YOU FOR THE NEXT TWO MONTHS

Everyone comment back letting us know if you liked the tunes.

I hope you're all well.

Love the songs. Can't wait to see you in ATL! I hope you guys come for dinner, Blake said you would if I made eggplant parm.

Also, I feel I am miss representing you with a VERY faded Simon Dawes sticker on my car. How can we remedy this prior to the end of August?

Have a good one tonight. Don';t get in any fisty cuff fights and eat lots of cake.

(will download the track when i get home. Sure they're dapper though)

Happy 7.7.7.

I did like this blog very very much. The songs sounded great and served to remind me how much I love you live, and I was utterly delighted to find links to sessions of a similar sort with David Bazan and Sondre Lerche. I have a lot of listening to do.

i am going to miss you boys..... and that drawing of taylor is hilarious, only because it does not really look like you and its like 'generic boy picture 1' whatever.

ps this is kind of late but if you go into that hear music store on the thrid street promenade that has a starbucks attached and you sit at one of their music computers and type in simon dawes one cd they send up is called 'connect sets' and it has the malibu magazine cover and blood and guts and old songs revisited like only simon dawes can do are on it. it made my day when i found it actually

pps in this weeks la weekly for tues/wed or whenever the shows are it has a picture of you (not incubus)actually once again that same picture from malibu magazine sheesh

bye get out of la i hate you

Hey hey. Love the new songs, of course. I agree with C'eleste. Come for dinner. You'll regret it if you don't. C'eleste is bitchin' in the kitchen. :)
Anyway, hope to hear from you guys. Much love.

Tracks are bloody wonderful!! It's great to hear the demo's as full live tracks. Really awesome version of Like it's something too and Blood and Guts. The new tracks all have a fusion of British sounds in it which would see you do well over here ;) c'mooooooooooon!!

Hey I love those Daytrotter songs! Just what I needed to hold me over until I can see you again or until you record more new stuff.
